Fantasy Football “Must Start” Players

By Aaron Mackel,

So week 13 is in the books. For most, week 14 is the last week of the regular season and will often determine who makes the playoffs and who doesn’t. For those fighting for a playoff spot, every decision is crucial this week. You might even need a win combined with a high score to pass someone in overall scoring for a tiebreaker. For this reason, we are going to look at some of the must start fantasy players that have to be in your line up this week. These are not the Aaron Rogers or Arian Fosters of the world that you would never ever sit. These are the guys you might have benched at times during the year but you have to have in the lineup this week.

Trent Richardson – With Richardson being on a subpar team, it was at times wise to sit him in games the Browns didn’t stand a chance in. This week the Browns host the Chiefs and Richardson is in line to have a career day. The Browns should take an early lead off a Richardson touchdown and ride him the whole game. Expect a big time performance from this rookie back.

Eli Manning – Manning has been somewhat unimpressive lately for fantasy purposes. That should all change this week. The Giants take on the Saints who give up the most fantasy points in the league to quarterbacks according to Yahoo. We all know Brees will put up some points so Manning and the Giants will need to as well.

Chris Johnson – Johnson is a scary start almost any week. You have to love this match up with the Colts though. The Colts keep scrapping and finding ways to win, but their defense struggles against the run. Tennessee will feed CJ the ball and he will put up a big numbers.

Greg Jennings – Jennings made his long awaited return last week but didn’t have a great day against Minnesota. This week he will be taking on a very average Detroit secondary and Jordy Nelson is hurt so he will likely be the focus of the passing game. The rust is knocked off and Jennings should have a good day for fantasy owners.

These guys are must starts this week in almost every situation. Unless you would have to take out an absolute stud to get one of these guys in the lineup, you should feel comfortable starting these guys and expect some major production. Also, if you have to take an absolute stud to start one of these guys, your team is probably awesome.
