Bald is beautiful and so is giving generously of your time and money to charity! That concept is precisely what the members of the MiniCo Insurance Agency team embraced on February 23 in the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation event in which they raised $10,658 and had three team members opted to have their heads shaved at the event.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization that makes grants to research institutions to find new cures for childhood cancers and to find treatments to ensure a better quality of life for patients and survivors. Funds raised by the foundation go towards research projects conducted by current pediatric cancer experts as well as younger professionals who are coming into the field looking to be the experts of the future. National cancer clinical trials at various institutions are also receiving the funds raised at St. Baldrick’s events.

The three MiniCo team members joined 27 others on stage to have their heads shaved at the February 23rd event. Event though other team members might not have sacrificed their hair, they were still a large part of the team and contributed by managing registartion, accepting donations, and helping throughout the event.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation co-founder Tim Kenny was in attendance and is the Executive Chairman of Aran Insurance Services Group, the parent company of MiniCo Insurance Agency.

In a recent press release, team captain Dan Sommer, MiniCo’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Chief Marketing Officer was quoted as saying, “We had an amazing turnout this year and raised a lot of money to aid in the fight to find a cure for childhood cancers. My thanks go out to Desert Ridge Marketplace, Empire Education Group, Dynamic Stills, my fellow event organizers, and everyone who came out to shave their heads, cheer on a friend, and highlight the need for funding this important research.”
