Storage On-Site Management

By Logan Livers,

When you’re comparing different self storage facilities, there are all sorts of features to consider. One feature you’ll notice that several facilities boast is the presence of an on-site manager. But what’s the point of on-site management, and how does it benefit you as a storage user?

As a self storage user, it’s great to have a property manager nearby so you can get answers right away. Whether you’re just setting up your rental agreement, have a few questions about your storage unit, or need some storage advice, it’s great to have someone on-site to assist you with your needs.

The availability of on-site management means that it will be easier to get a hold of your facility, too. Talking to management directly is far more convenient than waiting for an email response or playing a game of phone-tag. If you have concerns about the terms of your rental agreements, the condition of your unit, or anything else, you’ll know that you have an easy channel of communication.

Another reason why on-site management is an important feature is that it can offer storage users some peace of mind about keeping their valuables at a certain facility. Many self storage facilities offer security features like gated access and video surveillance, but having someone on location that can keep an eye on the property helps add an extra layer of security that really has no substitute.

Storage facilities that have on-site management will typically be in far better shape than locations that don’t consistently have a person working there. Storage managers who work on-site will generally be tasked with the overall upkeep of the facility, as well as many other responsibilities. With someone physically at the facility every day, any repairs will be done in a timely fashion, and the property will typically be very clean.

So if you’re in the market for a new storage unit and currently comparing various facilities, perhaps on-site management is something you should add to your wish list. That way, you’ll always know how to contact the manager and get your questions answered in a timely manner. Plus, you’ll have the additional peace of mind knowing that someone is on-site and keeping an eye on the property.
